I recently notice a few of my fingerlings had ick.i did about a 50 percent water change and cranked the heat up, and this seems to be working.I have read that 1 teaspoon of salt per gallon of water can also be effective for curing ick, but it can result in the burning of your vegetables. anyone try this?
I also read that you should increase the aeration because increased temperature leads to increased metabolism, this will increase the fish’s immune response but also increases the Oxygen demand. I also read to use a micron filter to clear out the free-swimming stages and the cysts of ich in the water as they pass through the filter.
I haven’t tried either of these techniques yet, yet, they are just suggestions
